  1. I didn't "shoot him down in flames". I disagreed with him. I didn't call him any names, I didn't say anything nasty to him. His opinion was massively hypocritical and inconsistent and I demonstrated that to him - he's totally free to come back to me and debate that with me. Odd that you find it perfectly reasonable for a guy to irrationally call for people to be deported based on a probably-fictional dislike of Christmas trees (seriously!), yet you think it's me who's being intolerant for daring to highlight the flaws in his point. You're a bigot and an Islamophobe because you express bigoted and Islamophobic views. That's hardly my fault. Your views perfectly fit the accepted definitions of both terms - again, that's not my fault. Should I not be allowed to point that out on a forum? You're allowed to describe me as a socialist; why can't I describe you as an Islamophobe? What you actually appear to want is to be able to express such views without anybody else being able to come back at you with any argument or criticism. We're having a debate here, and as such we're disagreeing - I've been no more "intolerant" of you than you have of me. And yes, I already know who Pat Condell is.

I, for one am delighted that The Rangers have progressed in the cup with a team of mercenary's that they cant afford. Great advert for Scottish football that they can only avoid admin 2 by getting hand outs from Mike Ashley. It's a model of business that we should all be aspiring to imo. Chick Young had a brilliant meltdown on the radio yesterday after some legendary Ibrox secretary was made redundant. She's worked with all the managers since Willie Waddell seemingly. Yet I'm sure she will be happy knowing her wages will go towards keeping Ian Black in Irn Bru for another week at least.

  4. I once got "harangued" for being a non-believer of the supposed big Guy in the sky and not celebrating Christmas by 6 supposed tolerant Christians who happened to be government officials. I was livid. Nothing to with me being over sensitive, this was out and out trying to ram their life choices down my friggin throat. Threatened to report them to the the City wide Equality & Diversity Committee. They soon shut up.

    James Mcfadden Anyone?

Hi talent and ability is there for all too see. However, the most impressive thing for me in the last 3 home games is the transformation in some of our other attacking players since he's become involved. O'Halloran is a different player. He now has purpose, is making direct runs and is being played in behind the defence time after time. BF (Before Faddy) he had no purpose, aimlessly meandering from one side of the pitch to the other. Lee Croft is another one - all of a sudden he's making direct runs inside the full back knowing that we can find him with a through ball. Some of our attacking play at times (even when Faddy isn't involved) has been absolutely superb. Incisive, quick, threatening and dangerous. Perfect counter-attacking play. I'm just not sure how we manage to switch that style to one that can retain the ball better and take pressure off our own defenders for some sustained periods.

  16. Happily eating my words regarding McFadden. Long may that continue. I've seen it said that him and MacLean in the same team wouldn't work. I'd take the opposite view and think those two together with O'Halloran would be very promising indeed. Can see MacLean and McFadden linking up via one twos in and around the box, O'Halloran running beyond them. I guess there is no guarantee MacLean can come back and be as good again but he's done it before. If anyone can it's him. He's cool as ****.

It was a decent win. But, yet again, they are buying success that they can't sustainably afford (no lessons learned i'm afraid). If they were behaving in a financially prudent manner, looking to create a solid base for the future of the club, then they wouldn't have that level of player on the park with which they won yesterday. So, yes, as a tribute act fan, you enjoy the victory, but at what long term cost?

  21. I would love to see a home tie against Dundee. Though they are playing good football and full of conficdence, they are also beatable. Dundee would bring around 3.5k ?? And we could match potentially match that. So a near brimming McD against our biggest rivals is my choice.

  25. He's officially on a contract until the end of the season. Unless he loses his place in the side, I can't see him being released/asking to leave. We need his creativity and he needs the regular football after such a nightmare over the last 4 or 5 years with injuries. It was a gamble which has paid off so far. Hopefully he can keep up the level he's playing at just now.

  29. The football we played for the first half an hour was just spectacular, O'halloran has added an end product to his game and it's great to finally see goals coming from outwidth the forwards, really eases pressure on graham. McFadden is the only player on the pitch who could have scored that goal yesterday, just a sublime finish from technically one of the best players in the country who will contribute even more been when his fitness is built up. However although we created so many chances we have to become more clinical or we will start drawing games in which we dominated - both yesterday's game and last week could have been draws. Second half wasn't pretty to watch, we allowed Ross County to take control of the midfield and if Lee Croft had walked- which he should have IMO- or they had been more clinical we would be looking at a replay in Dingwall. We need to start bringing the level of performance we show in sections of game into the whole game, perhaps tommy should take part of the blame for us having to hold on yesterday as when he took mo and jm off there was no link to the midfield to the attack which resulted in a lack of penetration and Ross county not having to work to retain possession. Performance wise I was impressed by Dave Mackay who is proving many -myself included- who were concerned at his ability to play right back this season wrong and bringing Frazer wright back has really improved us defensively. ANdo IMO was poor yesterday and I expect more Easton to contribute more in an attacking sense than he is doing because he has the pace and the strength to get forward and contribute as much as Andrew Robertson and graham shinnie do/did in the spl. Chris Millar is easily our most consistent player atm and simon Lappin has fitted in well although he wasn't great yesterday. I know many will disagree with me but Brian graham is not doing enough and doesn't make the best runs for through balls and contributes very little to the play, yesterday a few moves broke down due to his ball control. Onwards and upwards

  33. Your whole argument about there being "no such thing" as Islamophobia is completely illogical. It's simply a word used to refer to those who have a hatred and/or fear of Muslims. If you're saying Islamophobia doesn't exist, you're also saying that such people don't exist, which is clearly nonsense (as you yourself acknowledged in another thread). It's the equivalent of saying there are loads of people who hate homosexuals, but there's no such thing as homophobia. The problem with your view, and the views of all bigots and sectarians like yourself, is that it completely ignores the fact that we are all individuals with our own attitudes and beliefs and behaviours. Muslims are no more all the same than white people are, or straight people are, or Christians are, or atheists are. Yes, some Muslims are extremists and war-mongers and bombers. So are some Christians. To tar all Muslims with the same brush because of Islamic extremism makes no more sense than to tar all Christians with the same brush because of the IRA.
