King cleared by court.....again.

"Our career criminal chairman has been acquitted of contempt of court. This is the two hundred and eighty-third occasion where an indictment has not resulted in a conviction. His forty-one criminal convictions and his three years suspension of a 3 month prison sentence are currently the only blemishes on his character. I think we should conclude that he has done well to overwhelm the South African Legal System with appeals to avoid 282 indictments that included fraud, money-laundering, bribery, witness intimidation, racketeering and systemic equity malfeasance. He’s a real stand-up guy."

It's become clear that DK doesn't have any money at all to put into Rangers, let alone the £30m he was boasting about when he ousted the old board. With no listing, no market in the shares, attempts to diddle creditors, failure to win promotion last year, and the operation running at a trading loss, I can't see anyone loaning Rangers any more money never mind subscribing to a share sale, especially with someone who has a "colourful" financial history at the helm. A further insolvency event seems the most likely outcome, with an asset strip a possibility too. Continuing as they are isn't an option.

Was there not some question about the ability to pay players win bonuses in December? Was this resolved?

There are rumours concerning the circumstances (financial) under which the loanee Oduwa was required to return early to Spurs.

Hardly the things a player wishing to take up a post at the club would be wanting to hear.

But something that should be posted up in the dressing room at his peg in case he has missed it:wink:

Sevco threaten the removal of advertising revenue from sponsors and companies they have links with, and all of a sudden the Herald start sacking journos that have criticised the club. What a shambles. We know there's no impartiality in the Scottish sporting press at all these days, but this is a dangerous president to be setting by the paper.

The Protestant Ascendancy re-asserts itself. Scotland's shame, a sickness at the heart of a nation that could be one of the most successful democracies in the world.

There is a solution.

The Herald has become a disgrace of a newspaper. The Sunday Herald is Braw, but owned by the same company sadly.

It appears that a football club in Scotland has more power than many world governments. I mean how many can silence their own media.

The UK (Westminster) government could not possibly be seen to be interfering in such an intrinsically Scottish affair.

The Scottish government will have no wish to alienate potential votes. What can change.

Most, if not all, papers will be on-line only pretty soon. Shortly after that, the whole concept of once a day news will disappear. I never read them, because I've heard everything that happened 12 hours before on line. I would buy them for the opinion pieces, but we live in a country where 95% of the printed press just make up puerile tabloid rubbish about what 50% of the population vote for. A couple of very respected journos  tried to tell the truth in the last week, and got fired. When you're on the very cusp of change, as Scotland is now, is when the utter absurdity of the status qho is most apparent.
