Tommy for Rangers

I know, I'm more of the opinion that Smith, and Wright, would have zero qualms about shuttingnup up up shop in certain games, including against Celtic, to try and get a result. While almost everyone else would be pressured into trying to attack teams because of how the fans expect them to play.

They're so far behind Celtic that they really do need to be a bit more solid, instead of committing the suicide of opening up against them.

Just my opinion, of course.

Obviously Sevco's fortunes and how they go about "getting closer to Celtic" are important to you. I couldn't care less if they never win another game.

He's made it clear he wants a bigger job, and it seems like English Championship sides aren't interested. He'd take it, there no doubt about it.

When did he make this clear? He might well take it if offered but I've not seen him make it clear he wants away.

I don't care in the slightest about their results, I'm merely discussing it.

Must admit it was the first thing that crossed my mind when I heard the news the magic hat was "resigned". Of course he would go if asked ..............which would break my Heart. It's all just speculation of course and I think it's unlikely given (a) the need to pay compensation to Saints (b) the need for a "bigger" name especially with season ticket sales in the summer coming up. Unfortunately the McInnes to Sevco and Tommy to Aberdeen scenario is much more credible but ultimately one I could live with more easily. All just speculation of course.

Don't think it's helpful to falsely declare Rangers were throwing stones at cars. I never seen anything of the sort and there were 2 horses overlooking the car park along with loads of strewards and a few other polis. The horse police were the same guys that turn up at the Ibrox games and take no nonsense. So stirring trouble claiming Rangers stone throwing is pretty lame and totally sucks.

Hold on here.

I don't come on here to tell falsehoods.

This is completely of topic but let me confirm; I sit in the West Stand and left right on full time. There was loads of disgruntled Sevco fans (obviously pissed off because the 'kiddy on' team had denied them victory) streaming out of both stand and directly opposite the west stand - fans picked up stones and started chucking them at the cars. I felt sorry for some old guy who had just left one of the disabled bays and looked alarmed as his car was struck.

If there were horses in the car park they weren't near this area and the stewards were never going to confront this sad excuse of society.

In the words of Rafael Benitez - Fact!

I don't mind if this thread is bumped over to the other chat room.

Walter Smith was fine when they had plenty money to unfairly spend on transfers.  As soon as he saw what was about to happen he couldn't get out of there quick enough (twice) and eventually left McCoist to it.  He almost became the only manager to get Everton relegated and was hunted from there.   Surprise,  surprise no other English club ever wanted him.  He then baled out on Scotland at the first opportunity. The man has very little integrity and is vastly overrated.

As for Tommy,  hope he stays.  The guy is a legend.

Hence his flop and failure in England

Tommy Wright is a God in my eyes, but going to Sevco is probably the one thing he could do that I would find unforgiveable.

Fortunately, I think there's very little chance of him being their choice. And if he did go there I don't think he'd last long, what with the constant off-the-pitch nonsense he'd have to put up with. It's a horrific job.

I hope McInnes doesn't go there either. My recommendation to Sevco would be Billy Stark.

Unless I am reading a different report to some others on here I didn't see him saying he would like the job. His response was diplomatic to the extremes of diplomacy but nothing more. I think TW and his wife are happy in Perth and my feeling is that the only job he will leave Saints for is the Northern Ireland one.

Of course Tommy would take the job if asked.

I will never, never see him as anything other than a legend.

I would still hate Rangers, but never Tommy. Could you really see Tommy doing all that entitlement, most successful club in the world, beating Celtic is everything, blah blah blah etc etc that Magic Hat, to a degree, went along with?

Aye I could.

It's in the contract is it not?

Been a couple of players/managers at both Rangers and The Rangers who were pretty decent human beings before they signed and promptly turned into utter bawbags within a couple of months.
