Center Half
We have been sniffing/enquiring about McNulty seemingly, The player would rather stay down there though in England so we are as usual down the pecking order a bit. R.B.B:- Adz
Thank feck. I'm in the same camp as you.. I would rather leave the £250000 in the bank until January of even next season and sign a good striker for years to come, than blow half of it now in a panic on the likes of Goodwillie, Iwelumo or in Hibs case Grant Holt... Cagey
Tommy says he would like another striker but he doesn't think its going to happen. He also says he doesn't think he will get any of the Celtic European money. What is the club going to do with that £200k,the £80k for Mannus international money & the £100k + top 6 money. He said he was needing to see a few players going as well. Wouldn't be surprised if Brad was allowed to go as I don't think Tommy rates or likes him. R.B.B:- Adz
We have to stop the panic buying of the likes of Richard Foster and start trusting the young players that we apparently spend so much time and money nurturing.. Tommy Wright, as much as I like him, seems obsessed with experience and has a distinct fear of the unknown.. Teams like Hearts, Dundee United and to a lesser extent Aberdeen see injuries as a win-win opportunity to blood youngsters.. The fans crave it and then the boss can hide behind a defeat citing untested players as the reason for the loss.. It's about time we started using our current wealth to improve the squad with real quality like Swanson, Alston and previously with Wotherspoon, Wright and MacLean(Who at the time were big signings for us).. We don't need a squad full of Foster, Clancy, Plamen Krachunov types... we are currently blessed with a strong squad, we should be trying youth when we are down to the bare bones and adding only real quality when we can.. Either that or scrap the whole youth thing if Tommy doesn't see it as the future... Ok we are lucky we have Mannus and Zander but there is a guy Mark Hurst, currently the only player we have representing our country at under-21 level and above, and I reckon 80% of our fanbase have never seen him touch a football. What other team outside of the old firm would have a player in the international set up, and 80% of the fans haven't ever seen him play... Shaggy Jenkins
Well that's just ****ing depressing. Honestly with Rangers back etc, an abject, embarrassingly negative display against Celtic I find my enthusiasm for this season waining already. Foster was told by County at the end of season to find a new club. Has taken either Tommy or Foster a long time to make a decision & miss out on valuable pre season. Do you think Foster will be kept on for 2017/18? Do you think *** Clancy, Michael Doyle or Plamen Krachunov were value for money? Do you think the striker we will sign will be better than Maclean, Cummins or Kane? Whats wrong with Hunter being substitute(4th choice) striker? Do you think the striker we will sign will be better than Maclean, Cummins or Kane? Whats wrong with Hunter being substitute(4th choice) striker? Wright seems to know a thing or two about how to get the best out of this club and team. He knows what he's doing and likes experienced back-up defenders. If the young lads are good enough they will get a shot. Having seen Hunter only a couple of times, I'd say he's nowhere near first team level yet. fazman1977

The answers to 1 and 2 are completely unrelated. Likewise 3 and 4. And none of them have anything to do with the value or otherwise of signing Foster now. Abernethy Saint
Some weird logic on here. You sign a player for cover. You don't need to play them because the regular stays fit and plays well. You let the cover player go, with many thanks. Therefore the cover player is shite, and the manager is an idiot. Just weird.
