rik2304
Has the sectarian singing been mentioned at all by the MSM?It came over loud and clear on the TV and radio...........I only mention this because usually they apologise when a fan, player or manager is picked up swearing on the microphones. It's strange that it appears to have been missed this time.

ODAB
The problem is football fans' belief that they can behave in a way they would never repeat in any other area of their lives. That coupled with alcohol leads to morons acting like morons. Every club has them. Put £1000 fine as compulsory on any fan that comes out of the stand and we'll soon see how easy it is to control their emotions. fazman1977

andy rhodes fancy watch
Lot of The Rangers bashing going on here. Both clubs fans are to blame but probably Hibs should shoulder most of it.Let's just say United had won against us in the last minute and their fans proceeded to go on the pitch and assault our players. I'm sure more than a few Saints supporters would be straight on after them. Doesn't make it right but can see exactly where the h**ns are coming from. Who was assaulted then?Lee Wallace? who is seen leaving the pitch less than a minute after the final whistle with not a mark on him.Kenny Miller? who shook hands with Hibs fans and whose wife says he wasn't.All the other players who have made no statement whatsoever?Just because Jim Jabba the *** Traynor says it happened you believe it? Jiangsu Sainty
Just because their are one or two pics of Gers players getting cuffed ears from hibs fans (shameful but not at all consistent with Rangers clubs claims), it is laughable to think that this can be used as an excuse by Gers fans to enter pitch, nor would it for Saints fans in same scenario. That isn't even me on a high horse demanding restraint but simply pointing out there is no ****ing way gers fans could have seen the assaults amongst the thousands of people on the pitch from their own stand. All they saw was hibs fans on pitch so they ran on to fight them. There is absolutely no defence at all. south inch, garydavidson and blueheaven

ejksjfc
Personally I think Hibs should now be denied their Europa League spot. This should then go to the team who finished fourth in the League. Indicator
That must be the most grossly inflammatory statement ever released by a football club in the UK.This was the time to say nothing or, release a balanced statement which also chastised their own fans for A) The pyro's. B) For the sectarian singing and C) For entering the pitch to confront the Hibs fans. They should have taken time to weigh up the events (which is probably what the authorities are doing) but no... they've shot themselves in both feet with that statement. (IMHO). Oldermoresensiblepack
Usual Jabba jobbies again " Rangers expect" "Rangers demand" "tiny minority" "unprovoked" "Nobody loves us, everbody hates us" (just coz we eat worms). Utter fandango but with the Daily Ranger, The Currant Bun and the rest anything said against them will be swept under the carpet ( the carpet at SFA H.Q. must look like a hump backed whale by now). Nice touch to mention Petrie is also Vice Chair of the SFA just in case they don't get their way on this.
MrBored
Unfortunately, this is giving Rangers even more of a them vs us chip on their shoulders. Going to make for some pretty dicey moments between fans next season. There should be plenty of photos kicking around of the Hibs fans throwing punches etc. Life bans the order of the day. Be interesting to see what the SFA do to Hibs the football club too.

What happened to this zero liability the Old Firm were quoting for years? Is it just them that have Zero liability for their fans? Also the greetin about having to receive their medals below stairs, didn't the old rangers have to receive their Eufa medals below stairs ( coz their fans were rioting above them)? This is about MONEY the rangers want/need that euro place coz without it the glib and shameless one just might have to dip into his own pocket for once. Abernethy Saint
I don't mind the Zombies attacking Hibs, their fans, the Government, the BBC, the voices in their head, Columbian coffee farmers and Martians etc etc because they got gubbed in a final. However, attacking our Cosgrove is a step too far.........if you read the statement whilst picturing in your mind one of those mental North Korean "news" readers ranting about something, it gets even funnier. I honestly don't think there would be saints fans running on. If say for example that was us v Hibs yesterday and their fans ran on, I'd view it is exactly what it was, massive outpouring of emotion. There isn't a single fan in Scotland that doesn't know the whole Hibs scottish cup story. Any other set of fans would have shown some restraint. If there was one or two idiots then that's all it would have been. What doesn't help is Rangers consciously winding their own fans up all the time. Creating a victim mentality. Statements blaming everyone else is actually just embarasing. Not saying Hibs fans were blameless, but total hullabaloo about nothing.
